Why do you face the increasingly complex process of chip manufacturing? SK hynix seeks AI technical

According to the Korea Times, SK Hynix said on Monday that the company has hired a data science expert to improve its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

The company said it has appointed Kim Young-han, a professor at the University of California San Diego, as senior vice president and principal researcher at the data science lab. By recruiting Kim, SKhynix is looking to apply artificial intelligence technology to the company's operating system to increase productivity.

Dr. Kim graduated from Stanford University with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and is a renowned data science expert. In 2015, he was also appointed as a researcher at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest professional and technical personnel association. In 2008, he won the National Science Foundation's new academic career development award, and in 2012 he won the IEEE Information Theory Paper Award.

In the data research department, SK hynix has also established an affiliate, called the Machine Intelligence and Data Analysis Solution (MIDAS) lab, which will be responsible for developing an AI-based company operating system.

SK hynix explains the importance of improving its artificial intelligence-based machine learning capabilities and deep learning techniques to increase productivity.

An official of the company said: "Because the recent chip manufacturing process requires a higher degree of micromachining technology, there is a growing demand for technologies that process large amounts of data."

SK hynix added that it will ensure that there are more data analysis experts to expand the company's artificial intelligence-based operating system.

“From this year on, we plan to hire more data analysis experts,” said SongChang-rok, senior vice president and chief information officer of the company. "We will work to expand the use of artificial intelligence-based operating systems."

In order to recruit more artificial intelligence experts, SKhynix will set up a publicity booth at the International Machine Learning Conference in Long Beach, California from Monday to Saturday. There, the company will introduce a data-centric management system and recruit talented people in the field.
