SIA announced global semiconductor sales data for July this year, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year

The American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released a report on September 3, showing that global semiconductor sales in July this year were 35.2 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.9% from the 33.5 billion U.S. dollars in July 2019 and June 2020 compared with the previous month. Of 34.5 billion US dollars increased by 2.1%.

"In the first seven months of this year, the global semiconductor market is still trying its best to overcome the various difficulties caused by the epidemic, and headwind. Sales in July have increased year-on-year and month by month. But for the semiconductor industry, There is still huge market uncertainty," said SIA President and CEO John Neuffer (John Neuffer). "Sales in the Americas region remained strong in July, up 26% year-on-year."

The report pointed out that, with the exception of the Americas, sales in China (up 3.5%) and all other regions of the Asia-Pacific (up 1.4%) increased year-on-year, but declined in Japan (down 0.4%) and Europe (down 14.7%).

On a monthly basis, compared to June this year, sales in all regions have increased: Asia Pacific/Other regions (4.5%), Japan (3.4%), Europe (3.2%), Americas (0.9%) and China (0.5%).
