On February 17, the official Renesas website announced the launch of a new generation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automotive system-on-chip (SoC) processor technology in applications such as autonomous driving. Under the new system mode, power efficiency and driving safety have been further optimized.

New product enhancements mainly include: Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) hardware accelerator core, which can provide 60.4 trillion operations per second (TOPS) deep learning performance, and 13.8 TOPS/W power combination; advanced safe driving assistance, It can quickly detect random hardware failures and respond in time; support software tasks with different security levels to run in parallel on the SoC without interfering with each other. These new technologies have been applied to Renesas’ latest R-Car V3U automotive SoC.
Renesas will announce the application of the above-mentioned new technologies at the 2021 International Solid State Circuit Conference (ISSCC 2021) to be held from February 13 to 22, 2021.
