Micron: The prices of some DRAM products have risen, and supply and demand are tight or will continue for several years

According to MoneyDJ reports, Sumit Sadana, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of memory manufacturer Micron, said that this year the DRAM industry will benefit from 5G-driven related applications. With the rapid recovery of automotive use, DRAM will be in short supply. At present, the prices of some DRAM products have increased. The market's demand for DRAM will continue unabated, and the tight supply and demand situation will continue for several years.

Micron pointed out that Micron’s DRAM plant in Taiwan, China, has begun mass production of DRAM products produced using the world’s most advanced process technology 1α(1-alpha). The first batch of products is to provide DDR4 and applicable consumer PCs for customers who focus on computing needs. Crucial DRAM products, this milestone will further consolidate Micron’s competitive advantage; and Micron LPDDR4 has also begun to send samples and verification to mobile customers, and will continue to launch other new products using this process technology this year.

In addition to Micron, major storage companies Nanya, ADATA, etc. are optimistic about the storage market this year, and the contract prices in the first half of the year have increased quarter by quarter.
