KPMG survey report pointed out: Internet of Things will become a semiconductor driving engine

According to the latest KPMG global survey report, the semiconductor industry leaders' confidence index for the semiconductor industry reached 62, which is confident that the semiconductor industry will be the pillar of the network world in the future. For the first time, the Internet of Things (IoT) surpassed wireless communications and is considered to be the primary application for revenue growth in the semiconductor industry in the future, while artificial intelligence (AI) ranks third.

KPMG conducts the "Global Semiconductor Industry Survey" every year. This year, it has entered its 14th year. There are 149 high-level executives from the semiconductor industry in 11 countries around the world. More than half of the respondents are from the Americas.

According to the survey, about two-thirds of respondents believe that the Internet of Things is a technology that provides smart home appliances, wearable devices and smart city interconnections. It is expected to replace "wireless communication" and become the primary application for driving revenue growth in the semiconductor industry next year. .

At present, there are more than 26 billion connected devices in use on the market and continue to increase. It is expected that nearly 20 times more equipment will be put into the Internet of Things by 2025.
