Folding screen new ideas, foreign media show TCL's three-layer folding screen prototype

Recently, the US media website CNET showed TCL's three-fold mobile phone. The prototype of this mobile phone is about the same size as the tablet.







This folding machine is like a state in which three mobile phones are folded together. When it is fully opened, it is about 10 inches in size. It is the size of an iPad. This three-fold mobile phone will use its so-called "Dragonhinge" hinge and fold it up. The device is thick, the sides look like the letters "Z" or "S", and the top display will act as an external screen. The phone has a rear four camera, front camera and USB-C port.





Li Xuanhong, general manager of TCL Communication Global Product Center, once said that once the key AMOLED folding technology is mature and durable enough, the folding screen mobile phone will be rapidly popularized, and the basic specifications are 5G. Folding screen mobile phone several key technologies to overcome points:

“(1) The screen is folded more than 200,000 times, that is, the average opening and closing is 300 times a day, and it is used for two years.

(2) The inner folding screen fits and the assembly work/benefit rate, and the screen displacement problem at the time of opening and closing must be considered.

(3) Inside folding screen camera head punching problem.

(4) The inside of the folding screen is sealed around the protective strip.

(5) The folding screen can only be a plastic appearance, and the folding glass technology is not yet mature. ”





Because TCL's three-fold mobile phone is in the prototype stage, the current specifications, price, and sales time are not clear. Although this is just a prototype, it is not necessarily a mass production, but at least it provides a new idea for the folding screen.
