According to reports, AMD CEO Lisa Su will meet with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong in South Korea next week to discuss cooperation on supplying high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips required for artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Industry insiders indicate Su will visit South Korea on March 18 and plans to meet with key partners including Lee Jae-yong and Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon.
Naver confirmed Choi Soo-yeon's meeting with AMD is scheduled but declined to disclose specific agenda items.
The Su-Lee meeting comes amid surging market demand for memory chips including HBM, DRAM, and NAND. AMD, NVIDIA, and other major tech firms are racing to leverage these technologies for building data centers and AI-powered systems.
Su is also expected to discuss broader collaborations with Naver, South Korea's largest internet portal and search engine provider.
Reportedly, these cooperation areas include expanding semiconductor supplies for data centers, building autonomous AI infrastructure, and collaborating on next-generation computing technologies.
Su's visit is expected to coincide with NVIDIA's annual developer conference GTC, scheduled for March 16-19 in San Jose, California.
